The Arab Youth Centre (AYC) and New Economy Academy (NEA) have launched the New Economy Program 2026, a training initiative designed to help 400 young Arabs understand how technology, sustainability and creativity are changing businesses and labour markets.

The first cohort of 100 participants began training on November 3. Four online cohorts will take part in Arabic-language sessions throughout the month, bringing together young people from across the Arab world.

The program covers emerging business opportunities, including digital platforms, resource efficiency, creative content and changing income sources. Participants will also examine how economic shifts are affecting career paths, skills requirements and entrepreneurship.

Its curriculum is divided into four areas: the foundations of the new economy; technology’s impact on industries and labour markets; the green, circular and AI economies; and the experience and creative economies.

Topics include data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital infrastructure, financial innovation, platform-based businesses, the gig economy, sustainability and the ethical governance of technology.

NEA will deliver the training through specialist trainers and industry experts, combining economic concepts with practical discussions across different sectors. AYC executive director Fatima Al Hallami said the initiative aims to help participants make informed career decisions and build businesses that address community needs.
