TikTok has launched a standalone TikTok Shop app in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, expanding its e-commerce push beyond the main TikTok platform.
Available on iOS and Android, the app offers personalized product recommendations, shopping through livestreams and short-form videos, in-app checkout, order tracking and customer support. It also includes app-exclusive deals, free shipping offers and first-order benefits, according to its description.
The app was first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra. TikTok did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment, and it remains unclear whether the company plans to expand the rollout to other markets, including the United States.
The standalone launch places TikTok Shop in more direct competition with established e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Temu. It also gives TikTok a dedicated destination for social commerce, rather than keeping shopping features inside its main app.
The move is part of TikTok’s broader expansion beyond social media and entertainment. The company has also introduced games, restaurant guides, sports hubs, hotel booking and microdramas, while exploring payments.
