Qatar University hosted its Market event to give student and alumni entrepreneurs a platform to showcase and sell their products while engaging directly with the public.

The initiative is part of the university’s efforts to build practical skills, support entrepreneurship and promote self-employment and innovation across its community. The event was held in collaboration with the Young Entrepreneurs Club of Qatar’s Ministry of Sports and Youth.

The market brought student and graduate-led projects together with visitors, companies and commercial organisations. Participants gained hands-on experience in marketing, sales and project management, while also having opportunities to understand customer needs, exchange knowledge and explore potential partnerships.

The university said the event was attended by President Dr Omar Al Ansari, university vice presidents, officials and entrepreneurs. Hamda Al Nuaimi, acting head of Events and University Programs, said the initiative helps participants turn ideas into projects with growth potential and strengthens links between students, alumni and the business community.

Proceeds from the market were allocated to Qatar University’s Joud Fund, which supports students. Participants said the experience helped build their confidence and apply academic knowledge in a real commercial setting.
