Abu Dhabi Eyes Global Luxury Packaging Hub Status with 2PointZero, ISEM, and KEZAD Deal

4 Min Read

Abu Dhabi-based investment firm 2PointZero Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italian manufacturer ISEM Packaging and KEZAD Group to explore the development of a regional packaging facility in Abu Dhabi. The agreement, signed at the Make it in the Emirates forum, signals a major push to position the UAE capital as a central hub for high-end packaging for the luxury, beauty, and confectionery industries.

Quick Facts

  • MoU to explore a new packaging facility.
  • Targeting luxury, beauty, and confectionery sectors.
  • Aims to boost UAE’s industrial in-country value.

Building Industrial Capacity in the Emirates

The proposed facility is designed to align with the UAE’s industrial strategy and its In-Country Value (ICV) Programme. By localizing the production of high-end packaging, the partnership aims to build a resilient supply chain and enhance the nation’s manufacturing capabilities.

Samia Bouazza, CEO of 2PointZero, commented, “This MoU is about more than a manufacturing facility. It is about building real industrial capacity within the UAE. ISEM brings European quality standards that are recognised by the world’s leading consumer brands. Anchoring that capability in Abu Dhabi, within KEZAD’s industrial ecosystem, means we are contributing directly to in-country value and creating supply chain infrastructure that serves the UAE for the long term.”

KEZAD: A Strategic Base for Regional Manufacturing

The Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) is the primary location being considered for the new plant. Its integrated infrastructure and proximity to key markets make it an ideal base for ISEM to establish its first regional manufacturing hub for the UAE and the wider GCC.

“This MoU reflects the growing confidence in Abu Dhabi as a competitive base for high-value industrial activity, and in KEZAD as an integrated platform where global manufacturers can establish, scale and serve regional markets with greater speed and efficiency,” said Mohamed Al Khader, CEO of KEZAD Group. “We look forward to working with 2PointZero and ISEM as they assess the requirements for a regional facility that can strengthen local supply chains, support in-country value and add new capability to the UAE’s manufacturing base.”

ISEM Brings European Quality to the GCC

Headquartered in Italy, ISEM is a major European manufacturer serving a roster of global luxury clients, including LVMH, Gucci, L’Oréal, and Puig. The Abu Dhabi facility would be its first in the GCC, extending its European operating model to the region. This move is expected to provide regional customers with shorter lead times and locally sourced, high-quality packaging solutions.

Francesco Pintucci, CEO of ISEM Packaging Group, stated, “The UAE and wider GCC have become an increasingly important market for our customers in luxury, beauty and confectionery. Establishing local manufacturing capability — with KEZAD currently under active consideration as the location — would allow us to better serve regional demand while maintaining the European quality standards that define our brand.”

The non-binding MoU sets the stage for subsequent definitive agreements, pending internal approvals and the final selection of KEZAD as the location.
