Accelerator Overview
The Solar Energy Acceleration Project is designed to help small businesses overcome energy shortages by facilitating the purchase and installation of solar power systems. The program combines financial support with professional capacity building, ensuring that entrepreneurs not only receive the necessary funding but also the technical skills to operate and maintain their solar systems. The initiative focuses on enhancing the productivity of service-oriented and industrial projects while reducing reliance on traditional fuel-powered generators.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age: Applicants must be between 20 and 60 years old.

- Registration: The business must be officially licensed and registered within the government profession lists in Syria.
- Location: Must be located in the Salamiyah Industrial Zone or the Tartous Industrial Zone.
- Ownership: The applicant must be the direct owner of the income-generating activity.
- Site Suitability: Must have a suitable location for solar installation (written landlord consent required if the site is rented).
- Financial Records: Must possess financial records or approved cash flow statements for at least one year.
- Social Focus: Priority is given to projects led by or employing women and youth, and those for whom the project is the primary income source.
Project Classification Standards
Micro-Enterprises
- Must have at least 2 permanent employees.
- Minimum invested capital of 750,000 New Syrian Pounds (SYP).
- Energy requirement must not exceed 4 kW.
- Priority for projects creating new job opportunities.
Small Enterprises
- Must have at least 6 permanent employees.
- Minimum invested capital of 2,000,000 New Syrian Pounds (SYP).
- Energy requirement must not exceed 12 kW.
- Priority for projects replacing fuel generators and those in high-demand, low-risk sectors.
