The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has kicked off the fifth cohort of its “Generative AI in Finance” training program, a targeted initiative to arm banking and financial professionals with advanced artificial intelligence skills. The move underscores the CBE’s commitment to embedding next-generation technology within the country’s financial infrastructure.

Building a Regional FinTech Hub
This latest program is a key component of the CBE’s broader FinTech and Innovation Strategy. The central bank is actively working to position Egypt as a leading regional hub for financial technology, aiming to attract talent and innovation from across the Arab world and Africa.
The training is delivered through the Digital Academy, an initiative by FinTech Egypt, in collaboration with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) and the UK-based Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CFTE). This partnership combines local regulatory expertise with international best practices in financial technology education.
Inside the AI Curriculum
The program’s curriculum is designed to drive operational efficiency and sharpen strategic decision-making. It focuses on practical applications of AI within the financial sector.
Key areas of study include integrating artificial intelligence into daily banking operations, using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) for workflow automation, and deploying AI-powered financial models for market forecasting and risk management. The training also covers the critical regulatory and compliance frameworks governing the use of AI in finance, equipping leaders to navigate the legal landscape and spearhead digital transformation within their institutions.
