A conference focused on digital economic empowerment and freelance work has convened in Damascus, bringing together public- and private-sector representatives to discuss the development of Syria’s digital economy.
Organised by the International Forum for Development Organizations (IFDO), with support from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour and a strategic partnership with SEED for Sustainable Development, the event featured dialogue sessions and working groups involving development and technology organisations.
Discussions covered legal frameworks and intellectual property protection, skills development aligned with market needs, digital infrastructure and electronic payments, and ways to help Syrian talent access regional and international markets.
The conference concluded with a set of recommendations and a practical roadmap outlining priorities and potential partnerships for strengthening Syria’s freelance work ecosystem.
