The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has surpassed 10,000 active registered companies for the first time, reaching 10,018 by the end of June 2026, according to the centre.

The milestone represents 30% year-on-year growth. Regulated financial services firms rose 16% to 1,134, while AI, fintech and innovation companies increased 39% to 1,933. Family-related entities grew 36% to 1,408.

Growth was also recorded across key financial segments. Wealth and asset management firms increased 35%, banking and capital markets firms rose 13%, and insurance and reinsurance companies grew 22%. Gross written premiums for DIFC-registered insurance firms reached $4.2B in 2025.

In April, DIFC announced plans to become the world’s first AI-native financial centre. The initiative is expected to generate $3.5B in economic value and create 25,000 jobs, the centre said.

DIFC is home to 327 banks and capital markets firms, 165 insurance and reinsurance entities, and 592 wealth and asset management firms.
