Dubai has been ranked the world’s leading FinTech centre by industry professionals in the latest Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), reinforcing the emirate’s position as a major financial hub.

The city ranked second globally for professional services and sixth for global reputation. It also retained its number one position for future potential for the fourth consecutive GFCI report.

The latest index collected 39,531 assessments from financial industry professionals worldwide and combined them with 143 instrumental factors. Dubai remains the only financial centre from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region in the global top 10.

Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, said the results reflect DIFC’s role in attracting financial institutions, talent and innovation while supporting the regulatory and business environment needed for growth.

Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority, said the centre’s scale across banking, capital markets, wealth and asset management, insurance and FinTech supports innovation and collaboration across the financial services industry.
