Dubai-based neo-broker amana has partnered with compliance technology company Zoya to launch an integrated Sharia-screening system, aiming to make Halal investing more straightforward and transparent for its users across the MENA region. The new feature embeds compliance checks directly into the trading app, addressing a long-standing friction point for faith-conscious investors.
Quick Facts
- Partnership with compliance tech firm Zoya.
- New in-app Sharia-compliant asset labels.
- Dedicated category for Halal assets.
Removing Guesswork from Faith-Based Trading
For many investors in the region, identifying Halal assets has traditionally involved using multiple tools, checking financial ratios, and undertaking time-consuming verification processes. amana’s new system is designed to eliminate this by incorporating Zoya’s API directly into its platform, providing real-time screening for Sharia-compliant assets.
“We built this system to remove the guesswork,” said Muhammad Rasoul, CEO of amana. “Investors and traders deserve clarity, confidence, and the ability to align their decisions with their values. By integrating Sharia-compliance indicators directly into the app, we’re making Sharia-compliant investing and trading simpler than ever.”
How The In-App Screening Works
The integration introduces a clear blue crescent moon icon that marks assets meeting Sharia standards on the amana platform. With a single tap, users can view complete certification details, including the verifying authority.
To further streamline the discovery process, a dedicated Sharia-only category is now available in the app’s ‘Search’ and ‘For You’ tabs, allowing investors to browse pre-screened Halal assets without manual research. The system is powered by Zoya’s technology, which ensures compliance is updated in real-time within the trading app.
