Egypt has rolled out a new electronic portal and automated system designed to simplify trade procedures for businesses. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, digitizes services for the Environmental Validation & Verification Unit (EVVU) and the Conformity Certification Unit at the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC).

- Partnership with Microsoft and Interact Technology Solutions.
- Aims to streamline services for exporters and importers.
Streamlining Trade with a Digital Overhaul
The new platform was launched in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Microsoft, and local firm Interact Technology Solutions. It is part of a broader government push, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to accelerate digital transformation, cut through bureaucratic red tape, and improve the overall investment climate.
By moving these critical certification services online, the government intends to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the infrastructure that supports Egypt’s foreign trade. For businesses, this translates to electronic mechanisms for submitting applications and tracking their progress, significantly reducing service delivery times.
A Push for Economic Competitiveness
Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid, stated that the project aligns with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s focus on facilitating trade and reducing processing times. He emphasized that these improvements are expected to have a direct positive impact on the competitiveness of the national economy.
“This will positively impact the competitiveness of the national economy and support the state’s objectives of increasing exports and opening broader horizons for Egyptian products in global markets,” Farid noted.
Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the GOEIC, added that the authority is committed to advancing the country’s digital transformation goals. He affirmed that the initiative will boost service quality, foster transparency, and ultimately increase client satisfaction levels by making access to essential trade services faster and more convenient.
