Fintech Forward 2026 concluded in Manama with more than 60 memorandums of understanding, strategic agreements and other announcements, according to the announcement. The fourth edition attracted over 2,900 local and international participants, including more than 40 speakers, international delegations and the event’s first Tech Talent Hub.
Among the announcements, BBK showcased a Google Cloud Universal Ledger pilot being delivered with ARRAY Innovation. The project will explore digital ledger technology in core banking, including potential applications for tokenised payments and programmable settlement.
Beyon and barq Group also announced an agreement bringing Beyon Money’s operations together with barq’s fintech platform, subject to final documentation and regulatory approvals. BENEFIT named the National Bank of Bahrain as the first participating bank in its Trade Finance Registry pilot, developed with MonetaGo and Bahrain FinTech Bay to address trade finance fraud risks.
Other developments included new collaborations involving Beyon Connect, BENEFIT, Huawei, Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain and stc Bahrain across compliance, digital identity, payments, artificial intelligence, infrastructure and trade finance.
Hosted by Bahrain EDB and programmed by Forbes Middle East, the forum was held at Exhibition World Bahrain under the theme “Finance in the Age of Intelligent Infrastructure.”
