The Harm Reduction Initiative Awards 2026 is now accepting applications from Algerian startups, innovators, researchers, students and project leaders developing solutions that reduce risks and create positive impact.

Launched by Philip Morris International and Leancubator as part of the Algeria Startup Challenge 2026, the three-month programme focuses on behavioral, environmental, industrial, urban and health-related risk reduction. Eligible applicants include startups and microenterprises, student or researcher-led projects, and professionals changing careers.

Selected participants can receive tailored acceleration, a grant of up to 500,000 DZD, visibility during the annual ASC2026 event, and potential open innovation and co-development opportunities with PMI and programme partners, according to the announcement.

Applications will be assessed on solution relevance, methodology and technology, operational feasibility, real-world impact, scalability and the team’s execution capacity. The published timeline lists the application period as August 6-22, 2026, followed by selection, an intensive support programme, learning and immersion days, and the ASC2026 event.
