The “Connect and Innovate” entrepreneurship program has concluded in Aqaba, helping 20 young people develop business ideas and access 23 incubation opportunities.
Implemented by Wasel for Awareness and Education in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, the program was supported by Bank al Etihad and the Aqaba branch of the Jordan Engineers Association.
Participants completed four days of training covering market research, feasibility studies, marketing, investment, business models and pitching. This was followed by 34 days of mentoring, networking and support with applications to incubators and other ecosystem organisations.
According to the announcement, participants submitted 50 applications to incubators and support institutions, while all 20 completed business models for their projects. The program received 237 applications, with women accounting for 55.8% of applicants and men 44.2%.
The initiative aimed to help young entrepreneurs move from early-stage ideas to viable projects while connecting them with organisations supporting entrepreneurship in Aqaba.
