Kuwait is placing greater emphasis on innovation, youth empowerment and entrepreneurship as part of its Kuwait 2035 development vision, according to Minister of State for Youth and Sports Tareq Al-Jalahma.
Al-Jalahma made the comments while opening the seventh Gulf virtual conference, titled “Techno Innovation, Techno Entrepreneurship and Techno AI Towards Economic Diversification.” The two-day event is being held under his patronage via Zoom.
He said the focus on innovation and economic diversification is intended to support sustainable growth, strengthen cooperation across the Gulf and create new opportunities for young people and entrepreneurs.
Conference chairperson Hanadi Al-Mubarak said the event aims to exchange expertise and build partnerships between the public and private sectors. The conference is linked to the Gulf Arab Initiative for Economic Diversification, launched in 2020, and addresses digital transformation, private-sector participation and the growth of non-oil sectors.
More than 100 local, Gulf and international experts are taking part, alongside leaders, inventors and 10 startups. The program includes 18 discussion sessions.
