Last Minute, a social calendar founded by Lebanese-American anesthesiology resident Dr. Rachel Semaan, is designed to bring fragmented plans from group chats, emails, texts and calendar invites into one shared space.
The app turns each plan into an event thread where participants can coordinate, confirm details and track updates. It supports personal, professional, travel and community events, with privacy built into the product.
Semaan developed the idea while completing her medical residency in Detroit, where an unpredictable schedule made it difficult to maintain relationships and organize time with friends. The company said its focus was also shaped by Semaan’s Lebanese upbringing and its emphasis on family, community and gathering.
Last Minute is live on iOS and Android and has reached thousands of installs, mainly through organic growth and word of mouth, according to the announcement. Semaan bootstrapped the company while finishing her residency, and the platform’s intellectual property is patent-protected.
