Luxor University has provided EGP 160,000 in support to eight young people participating in its “From Skill to Profit” project, according to an announcement. The funding is intended to help them launch or develop income-generating projects.
The initiative was delivered in partnership with civil society organisations and aims to help young people turn their skills into productive businesses and sustainable sources of income. The university said the programme also supports self-employment, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Participants presented project ideas spanning creative and technology-related fields, including short-film production, content creation and cultural technology.
The supported ventures are funded by the Drosos Foundation and implemented through the Ana Masry Association for Development and Training in Qena. The programme focuses on helping participants move from skills development to practical application and income generation, with an emphasis on projects that can grow and remain sustainable.
Luxor University President Sabrin Abdel Galil said the university supports initiatives that serve the community and promote development. The university’s community service and environmental development sector, alongside the entrepreneurship and innovation sector at its private university, works to support community projects and help young people turn ideas into viable ventures.
The Ana Masry Association said it plans to expand its partnership with Luxor University to provide further support to young people with business ideas.
