Oman’s Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada) has opened two projects in Al Dhahirah Governorate: the Craft Industries Entrepreneurship Centre in Dank and the Oman Artisan House at Ibri Yard in Ibri.
The centre in Dank is designed to support artisans through dedicated facilities for training, production and innovation. It covers crafts linked to Omani identity, including palm-leaf products, textiles, teli embroidery and tailoring.
The project aims to improve the skills of workers in the sector, raise product quality and help artisans develop more sustainable businesses, according to the Oman News Agency.
The Oman Artisan House will serve as a specialised platform for displaying and selling Omani handicrafts. Its location at Ibri Yard is expected to give artisans and entrepreneurs access to a prominent commercial and tourism site in the governorate.
The two projects are part of Riyada’s efforts to connect training, production and marketing while preserving Oman’s handicraft heritage and creating economic opportunities in Al Dhahirah.
The authority also runs a training programme covering basic tailoring and entrepreneurship. The programme equips participants with technical and professional skills and supports them in establishing and managing their own businesses.
