The Governor’s Office of North Al Sharqiyah, in partnership with the governorate’s Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth, has launched the North Al Sharqiyah Youth Majlis, a platform designed to turn young people’s ideas into practical development projects.

The initiative provides a formal space for dialogue on local challenges, while supporting youth-led initiatives and strengthening their role in local decision-making. According to the announcement, its work is organised through three specialist teams covering media and public relations, innovation and entrepreneurship, and planning and futures thinking.

The platform currently includes more than 30 young men and women. Its members have also developed an internal governance framework intended to support transparency and sustainable operations. The initiative’s work officially began in March 2026.

One of its main projects is the North Al Sharqiyah Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Lab. The lab will bring together young people, idea owners, experts and relevant organisations to identify local challenges and develop solutions, prototypes and projects that can progress toward the market.

Potential focus areas include entrepreneurship, tourism, technology and digital transformation, sustainability, community services, education, culture and sports. The platform also plans to build partnerships with government bodies, private companies, academic institutions, entrepreneurs and civil society organisations, while developing ways to measure the impact of its initiatives.
