OMEGA and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) have launched an exhibition in Dubai marking the anniversary of the first Moon landing and highlighting milestones in the UAE’s space program.
Hosted at MBRSC, the exhibition features displays on the Emirates Lunar Mission and the UAE Astronaut Program. It traces the country’s progress from Hazzaa Al Mansoori’s 2019 Zayed Ambition 1 mission to the International Space Station to H.E. Dr. Sultan AlNeyadi’s six-month Zayed Mission 2 during Expedition 69 in 2023.
The exhibition also showcases the OMEGA Speedmaster, which has been associated with human spaceflight since its introduction in 1957. According to the announcement, the watch became NASA’s only flight-qualified timepiece in 1965 and was worn on the Moon during Apollo 11 in 1969.
The initiative builds on OMEGA’s partnership with MBRSC. The company said AlNeyadi wore OMEGA watches during his International Space Station mission, as part of the brand’s role as the center’s official timepiece partner.
OMEGA has also launched a campaign featuring five Speedmaster models spanning nearly seven decades of the collection’s design and engineering history.
