Qatar took part in a series of Gulf Cooperation Council ministerial meetings in Bahrain focused on trade, industry, standards and entrepreneurship, according to the announcement.
The meetings included the 71st Trade Cooperation Committee, the 57th Industrial Cooperation Committee and the 12th Ministerial Committee for Standardization. Qatar’s delegation was led by Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, alongside Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
Officials also joined consultations with GCC chambers of commerce and entrepreneurs. Discussions covered shared challenges facing the region’s entrepreneurship sector, initiatives supporting small and medium-sized businesses, and ways to advance innovation and strengthen the Gulf’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The meetings also included a ceremony honoring Gulf inventors, highlighting efforts to encourage innovation and ideas that can improve economic performance and productivity.
Qatar additionally participated in the opening of the Made in the Gulf 2026 Forum and Exhibition, held from October 6 to 8 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Its pavilion featured the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank, Manateq and more than 20 national factories.
During the forum, Al Sayed joined a session on moving from industry to global markets, covering investment, exports, production capacity and access to international value chains.
