Qatar has launched Doha Investment, a new investment platform intended to support the country’s next phase of economic growth and expand private-sector participation.
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who chairs the platform, announced the launch at the Qatar Economic Forum’s UNGA Special Edition in New York on September 20, 2026.
Wholly owned by Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Doha Investment will manage QIA’s domestic investment portfolio. The portfolio includes Qatar Airways Group, QNB Group, Ooredoo Group, Qatari Diar, Katara Hospitality and Hassad Food.
According to the announcement, the platform’s portfolio includes more than 40 companies operating across more than 80 markets. It spans financial services, transport and logistics, telecommunications and technology, real estate, hospitality, food and agriculture. More than 20 portfolio companies reported revenues above QAR 1 billion in 2025.
Doha Investment also plans to help build new national champions in advanced technologies, manufacturing, supply chains and healthcare. Its initiatives include Qai, a national artificial intelligence platform focused on scaling trusted AI across enterprises and society.
The platform said it will work with local and international investors, support high-skilled job creation and strengthen Qatar’s capital markets, in line with the country’s Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030.
