Zinc Media Group has secured a major commission to produce and creatively reinvent the 18th season of “Stars of Science,” the popular innovation-focused reality TV show from Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). The deal marks the UK-based media company’s first significant entertainment series production in the Middle East, signaling a deeper push into the region’s growing media market.

A Creative Overhaul for a Regional Staple
For its upcoming season, “Stars of Science” is set for a full creative overhaul led by Zinc. The refresh will include evolving the show’s storytelling, visual identity, and studio experience. The goal is to broaden its entertainment appeal while maintaining its core focus on science and entrepreneurship, which has made it one of the Arab world’s longest-running TV formats.
The series will be produced by The Edge, Zinc’s Middle East label operating as a Media City Qatar company. It will be produced in both Arabic and English, with Zinc Distribution managing international sales and the parent group overseeing a marketing strategy across 22 Arab countries.
Bringing Big Entertainment Experience to Doha
To lead the creative new direction, Zinc has appointed Andrea Hamilton as Executive Producer. With credits including international hits like “The Voice” and “Strictly Come Dancing,” Hamilton brings large-scale entertainment expertise to the Qatari-born format.
“Stars of Science already has an extraordinary legacy and cultural relevance across the region,” said Hamilton. “The opportunity now is to evolve the format for a new generation of viewers, bringing more scale, emotion, jeopardy and entertainment storytelling while keeping innovation at the heart of the show. We want audiences to connect not just with the inventions, but with the people behind them.”
Zinc’s Strategic Push into the Middle East
The commission represents a key milestone for Zinc’s international strategy and strengthens the position of its local arm, The Edge, in the Middle East’s production market. The move highlights the growing appeal of the region as a hub for media production.
