RTED Arabs will host an online panel on August 16 exploring how entrepreneurs in Egypt are turning natural and cultural resources into scalable ecotourism and rural tourism ventures.
The session will feature Ahmed Yehia, founder and chairman of Eco for Sustainable Development; Aziz Abu El-Azm, co-founder of Roof World; Sherif El-Ghamrawy, founder of Basata Eco-Lodge; and Ahmed Hamed, founder and CEO of ToBadaa. Dr. Fahd Abdelaziz, head of the Startup Support Sector at the Entrepreneurship Center of the Arab Academy, will also join the discussion.
Topics will include building business models around local resources, balancing profitability with environmental and social sustainability, involving local communities, using technology to reach markets, and preserving cultural identity. The panel will also address challenges faced by founders and opportunities for young entrepreneurs with limited capital.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Cairo time via Zoom. It is part of the Rural Tourism Entrepreneurship & Digitization Program for Arab States (RTED Arabs).
