Applications are now open for the Sabbaq Sports Hackathon, a 72-hour innovation program focused on technology solutions for Saudi Arabia’s sports sector.
Organised by Al Ansar Sports Club, the hackathon will take place from August 18 to 20 at the club’s venue in Medina. Participants can choose from six tracks: training technology, fan experience, data and analytics, health and fitness, sports artificial intelligence, and sports sustainability.
The program is open to people with an idea or project who want to develop it into a practical solution. Applicants must complete their details, select a track and submit their project idea for review.
Participants will receive guidance from technology and sports specialists, alongside opportunities to connect with innovators, investors and sports leaders. According to the announcement, prizes worth more than SAR 100,000 are available, as well as potential partnership and project support opportunities.
The organisers expect more than 500 participants. The hackathon will move teams from ideas to working prototypes over three consecutive days.
