Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure is becoming a stronger draw for startups and technology investors, supported by faster connectivity, near-universal internet access and growing adoption of advanced technologies.
According to the Saudi Internet 2025 report from the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, median mobile internet download speeds reached 216 Mbps in 2025, up from 203 Mbps a year earlier. 5G download speeds reached 320 Mbps, while fixed broadband latency stood at 8 milliseconds.
Internet penetration reached 99.6%, with full coverage in Riyadh, Makkah, the Eastern Province, Madinah and Hail. Monthly mobile data consumption averaged 53 GB per user, while 61.3% of users spent more than seven hours online each day.
The report also found that 45.2% of internet users use artificial intelligence tools, pointing to growing demand for AI-powered products in areas such as productivity, customer service and business management.
For investors, total internet data traffic reached 69 million terabytes in 2025. IPv6 adoption rose to 67%, and Saudi domain registrations increased 18% year on year.
The company said these indicators add digital readiness to Saudi Arabia’s broader startup support system, which includes funding programs, accelerators, venture capital funds and regulatory reforms. The Kingdom also ranked first globally in the 2026 ICT Development Index published by the International Telecommunication Union.
