Saudi fintech startup TalMal has closed an undisclosed pre-seed funding round with participation from MM Partners, according to the announcement. The company plans to use the investment to expand and accelerate growth in the Saudi market.

TalMal is developing a salary-backed flexible purchasing model that connects employees, employers and merchants through a single digital platform. Employees gain more flexible purchasing options, while employers help organise repayments and merchants can reach a new customer base.

The round comes as TalMal moves from product development and business-model validation toward market expansion. The startup is currently incubated at Jada 30, an initiative affiliated with the Social Development Bank, where it continues to develop its business model and technology products.

TalMal said it will focus on expanding its network of partner companies and merchants, strengthening its technology infrastructure and reaching more employees across Saudi Arabia.

MM Partners’ investment reflects its focus on supporting startups through capital, strategy, market access and networks. The firm said TalMal’s model stood out for its potential to create value for employees, employers and merchants while supporting a scalable ecosystem.

The company was founded by and is led by Thamer Faisal Al-Qaishish, who said the round marks TalMal’s transition into a new phase focused on scaling its product and reach.
