Snowflake plans to invest a projected $300 million in Saudi Arabia through 2030, while expanding its local operations and cloud infrastructure, according to the company. The US data cloud provider also formally inaugurated its regional headquarters for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa in Riyadh.
Working with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Snowflake will grow its local team and partner network. It also plans to launch two additional cloud regions in the Kingdom in the second half of 2026, adding to its existing Google Cloud region in Dammam.
The multi-cloud setup is intended to give customers more options for meeting data residency and sovereignty requirements. Snowflake said the investment figure is based on an independent IDC analysis of its projected economic impact and customer value in Saudi Arabia.
Snowflake and MCIT will also deliver the One Million Minds programme, which aims to train up to 25,000 people in data and AI skills over five years. The programme will combine virtual and in-person learning, certificates and practical projects, and will introduce Snowflake Academia to the Middle East.
The company’s Saudi customers include Red Sea Global, O3sigma, Zahid Group, Almarai, Foodics, Rime and Jeeny.
