Aden has hosted “The Investor,” a new event designed to connect Yemeni startups with angel investors and expand access to early-stage funding.
Four startups from the technology, services and industrial sectors presented their investment opportunities to angel investors based in Yemen and abroad. The event aimed to strengthen links between entrepreneurs and investors while encouraging local and diaspora capital to flow into promising ventures.
“The Investor” is the first activity organized by the Yemeni Angel Investment Network, which seeks to develop the country’s angel investing ecosystem and support startups with strong growth and economic impact potential, according to the announcement.
The network is part of the Wathba project, implemented by Deep Root Consulting in partnership with ROWAD Foundation and funded by the EU Delegation to Yemen. The project focuses on strengthening Yemen’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and improving startups’ access to investment and financing, with the broader goal of supporting private-sector growth and sustainable job creation.
