UAE Cyber Security Council Partners With Honeywell to Strengthen Critical Infrastructure Security

4 Min Read

The UAE’s Cyber Security Council (CSC) has announced a major collaboration with global technology firm Honeywell to develop advanced cybersecurity programs across the country. The partnership, unveiled at the Make it in the Emirates 2026 event, aims to localize cyber resilience capabilities and secure the nation’s critical industrial infrastructure.

Quick Facts

  • New partnership to boost national cyber resilience.
  • Focus on protecting operational technology (OT) infrastructure.
  • Aims to localize cyber services and build local expertise.

Securing National Operational Technology

Under the new agreement, the CSC and Honeywell will work to enhance the UAE’s cybersecurity readiness by localizing services, advancing capacity-building initiatives, and supporting the development of cyber policies aligned with national frameworks.

A key part of the collaboration involves implementing Honeywell’s advanced technologies at the UAE’s National Security Operations Centre (NSOC). This will be used to drive innovative Operational Technology (OT) cyber solutions specifically designed to safeguard the country’s most critical industrial sectors, including energy and manufacturing.

His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, stated: “This collaboration reflects the Cyber Security Council’s commitment to continuing and strengthening cooperation with leading global technology companies to enhance cyber resilience, develop local expertise, and ensure the UAE maintains its leadership at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.”

Localizing Expertise Amid Rising Threats

The partnership comes as cyber threats against industrial targets continue to rise. Honeywell’s latest Cyber Threat Report noted a 46% global increase in ransomware extortion incidents, with 55% of self-reported cybersecurity incidents in 2024 being direct attacks on OT systems.

“As sectors in the UAE become more interconnected and the convergence between information technology and operational technology accelerates, the need to safeguard critical industrial infrastructure from escalating cyber threats becomes more pressing,” added Dr. Al Kuwaiti.

Through its local Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, Honeywell will provide training and solutions to support key sectors.

Uygar Doyuran, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell Process Automation in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, said: “By combining our global cybersecurity expertise with strong local capabilities, we are helping organizations across critical sectors enhance resilience, protect industrial operations, and build the skills needed to counter evolving cyber threats.”
