Abu Dhabi-based modular AI data centre company Hyperfusion has emerged from stealth with Sentinel, a complete AI data centre built inside a transportable 45-foot ISO High Cube container, in partnership with VAST Data.
Sentinel is commissioned in a factory and shipped to a customer site, with a reference configuration of 96 GPUs and around two to three petabytes of data capacity. Hyperfusion said the system is designed to bring sovereign and confidential AI inference online in weeks rather than the 18 to 24 months often required for traditional data centre capacity.
The system can be customer-owned or operated by Hyperfusion as a managed service. It can run on-premises, in-country or fully air-gapped, while confidential computing protects models and data during use.
Hyperfusion and VAST plan to integrate VAST’s AI Operating System as Sentinel’s preferred data platform. Technical validation is still under way, and the companies also plan to explore a common control plane for distributed deployments.
For larger deployments, Hyperfusion’s HyperPod offers a 5 MW modular pod with capacity of around 20 petabytes. The companies are targeting government, enterprise, telecommunications and energy organisations that need faster or sovereign AI infrastructure.
