Quiqup, an innovative UAE-based e-commerce logistics provider, has officially launched its Eco-Friendly Deliveries initiative. This year-long programme is strategically designed to connect local last-mile deliveries with verified carbon removal efforts while actively supporting regional climate projects.
Driving Verified Carbon Removal And Mangrove Restoration
The initiative, which officially commenced on July 1, 2026, highlights the company’s continued focus on building sustainable logistics infrastructure. The programme marked its first major public activation on UAE Mangrove Day, directing all linked carbon removal efforts toward verified UAE mangrove projects. This localized focus directly aligns with the UAE’s broader national ambition to plant 100 million mangroves by 2030 to bolster climate resilience.
Alongside the launch, the company announced its three founding partner brands: Baya, The Botanist, and Clarins.
The initiative has already established significant milestones:
- Between the logistics provider’s own commitments and contributions from participating brands, a total of 11,324.88 kg CO₂e has been removed to date.
- The company has firmly committed to removing a minimum of 50,000 kg CO₂e from the atmosphere during the programme’s inaugural year, exclusive of additional commitments made by its brand partners.
Empowering Brands To Make Climate-Positive Choices
The operational model is designed to offer e-commerce brands a practical, measurable framework to tie everyday delivery activities to environmental action. The system calculates the distinct carbon footprint of each local delivery and reports this data back to the participating brands. Subsequently, an equivalent amount of carbon is removed through verified programmes, with all calculations strictly verified by climate partner CarbonSifr.
Bassel El Koussa, CEO of Quiqup, emphasized that consumer demand for environmentally conscious options is increasing annually. He highlighted that the initiative represents a convergence of personal values and sound business practices, enabling partner brands to easily make planet-positive choices.
