White & Case LLP has made a strategic investment in Clauze.AI, a Saudi legal technology startup founded by Waad Al-Karini. The investment amount and other transaction details were not disclosed.
Clauze.AI is building an enterprise AI platform for legal teams and companies in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. Its tools cover contract review, governance management, due diligence, and the identification of legal risks and obligations.
The platform supports bilingual use, stores data within Saudi Arabia and can be deployed on-premises, according to the announcement. These features are designed to address the linguistic, regulatory and data requirements of legal departments operating in the Kingdom.
Al-Karini founded Clauze.AI after a more than 10-year career at White & Case, including three years leading the firm’s Riyadh office. The law firm is now backing her move into legal technology entrepreneurship.
White & Case said the investment reflects the rapid impact of artificial intelligence on legal services and its interest in supporting innovation in Saudi Arabia. The firm has worked in the Kingdom for more than 70 years and has around 40 lawyers in its Saudi office.
