Morocco and Egypt are strengthening their cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and intend to develop a regional partnership in emerging technologies. The move was discussed during a recent video conference between Moroccan Minister of Digital Transition, Amal El Fellah, and her Egyptian counterpart, Minister of Communications, Amr Talaat.
A Regional Model for AI Advancement
During the virtual meeting, Egyptian Minister Amr Talaat praised the progress made by Morocco, describing it as a “regional model” in artificial intelligence. He noted that Moroccan advances contribute to promoting administrative transparency, improving public services, and stimulating the digital economy. For her part, Minister Amal El Fellah highlighted the dynamism of Morocco’s digital transition, driven by High Royal Directives, and reaffirmed the kingdom’s desire to share its expertise with Egypt.
An Invitation to a Premier AI Summit
The talks also focused on an Egyptian initiative to create an Arab Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies, a project that will be considered by the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States on September 1. In this context, Minister Talaat invited the Moroccan minister to participate in the “AI Everything World” Summit and Exhibition, the first edition of which will be held in Egypt from February 10 to 12, 2026.
A Shared Commitment to Sustainable Development
The two officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining close and lasting coordination to support global technological transformations. They emphasized their shared goal of harnessing digital innovation for sustainable development and the well-being of their peoples.
