Warba Bank Launches Voice AI Assistant for Banking Transactions in Kuwait

2 Min Read

Kuwaiti Islamic bank Warba Bank has launched Bdr AI, an agentic AI assistant built into its mobile app that allows retail customers to complete selected banking transactions through voice or text commands.

The assistant supports English and Arabic, including conversational Kuwaiti Arabic, and can switch between the two during a conversation. Customers can use it for instant transfers through WAMD, transfers between their own Warba accounts, payments to saved beneficiaries and PayMe link generation.

Unlike conventional banking chatbots that mainly answer questions or direct users to app menus, Bdr AI can initiate supported transactions. Warba Bank describes it as the first agentic AI system to execute banking transactions directly by voice.

Each transaction is shown on screen and requires the customer’s explicit confirmation before it is processed. The service is available around the clock on the bank’s iOS and Android apps after secure login, with biometric protection and infrastructure compliant with Central Bank of Kuwait requirements, according to the announcement.

Anwar Badr Al-Ghaith, the bank’s deputy CEO for digital transformation and operations, said investment in scalable digital infrastructure remains a priority alongside security. Warba Bank also announced it has joined the Digital Cooperation Organization as an observer.
