Egypt’s DeepTech Entrepreneurship Summit Concludes, Awarding Top Innovators

The DeepTech Entrepreneurship Summit, organized by the Electronics Research Institute in collaboration with Edafa Venture Capital, has successfully concluded in Cairo. The event, held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, brought together investment leaders, technology experts, and young entrepreneurs to support innovation and bridge the gap between scientific research and market needs.

The summit featured a competitive pitch competition for deep tech startups:

  • 40 Projects: The number of initial participating projects in the competition.
  • 10 Finalists: The number of startups that qualified for the final pitching round.
  • 3 Winners: The number of projects that received financial awards and training programs.

A Bridge Between Research and Industry

The summit reflects the Electronics Research Institute’s commitment to building a new generation of innovators in deep technology and supporting them in transforming their ideas into scalable companies. Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Moharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, emphasized that “investing in young minds and emerging projects is the cornerstone of a competitive knowledge economy”. Eng. Essam Ali, CEO of Edafa Group, added that the summit represents “an ideal platform for collaboration between scientific research institutions and the private sector”.


Meet the Winning Innovators

The event included a pitch competition where 10 startups presented their ideas to a high-level judging committee. The winners were:

  • First Place: Energtic.
  • Second Place: Palm Shield.
  • Third Place: Exomotion. The winning teams were awarded financial prizes and training programs to support their growth.

Fostering a Knowledge-Based Economy

The summit also featured two rich panel discussions on innovation and the future of investment in deep tech, with experts stressing the need to build sustainable bridges between research and industry. The event concluded by honoring the speakers and jury, affirming that Egypt is taking steady steps toward entrenching a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and technological entrepreneurship.
