Egypt is accelerating its push to build a future-ready telecom sector with a fully funded training program focused on 5G and 6G Open RAN technologies. Led by the National Telecommunication Institute, the initiative operates under the “Digital Youth of Egypt – Ready for Employment” program and targets young professionals aiming to secure roles in the information and communications technology (ICT) market.
Quick Facts
- Fully funded 5G and 6G Open RAN training.
- Four-month program includes practical on-the-job experience.
- Connects graduates directly to telecom employment opportunities.
Advancing Open RAN Architecture in Egypt
The new curriculum heavily emphasizes Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) architecture. This multi-vendor approach is designed to increase network flexibility and reduce reliance on single legacy suppliers.
By training talent in open architecture, Egypt aims to facilitate faster network innovation and modernize its domestic infrastructure.
Bridging the Telecom Skills Gap
The four-month initiative combines rigorous technical instruction with actual field experience. Participants will undergo three months of hands-on technical training, followed immediately by a one-month practical placement with partner telecom companies.
To ensure graduates are fully prepared for the corporate environment, the program extends beyond technical engineering. Trainees receive professional development coaching, including modules on workplace communication, project management, and general corporate readiness.
The institute also provides logistical support, such as transportation, to maximize accessibility for young professionals. Graduates are expected to transition directly into the telecom workforce upon completion.
