In a significant move to bolster the entrepreneurial landscape in Palestine, MENACatalyst Foundation has officially commenced the bootcamp phase of the “Makani Startup Weekend – Women’s Edition.” Hosted at the Makani Innovation Hub, the initiative has brought together 20 female founders and early-stage innovators to undergo intensive training designed to transform raw concepts into scalable, market-ready business ventures.
Scaling Female-Led Innovation In Palestine
The bootcamp serves as the primary stage of a comprehensive, multi-phase journey aimed at narrowing the gender gap in the Palestinian tech ecosystem. Over the course of the initial sessions, participants focused on critical foundational elements including problem-solution fit, target market identification, and business model structuring.
By facilitating a high-pressure environment where ideas are actively challenged and refined, the program pushes entrepreneurs to move beyond theoretical concepts and begin building functional prototypes. The initiative reflects a broader regional trend of increasing participation by women in the tech and innovation sectors, particularly in markets facing unique structural challenges.
The SEED Project: Strengthening Ecosystems
This specialized startup weekend is a core component of the SEED Project, a wider initiative through which MENACatalyst works to strengthen innovation ecosystems across Palestine. By providing a structured pathway from training to mentorship and culminating in a final pitching stage, the project aims to create a sustainable pipeline for impactful ventures.
The focus of the program remains on “translational execution”—ensuring that the participating innovators have the tools to navigate the complexities of the Palestinian market while preparing their startups for potential regional expansion and investment.
