Egypt’s Nahdet El Mahrousa Launches HerVenture App To Empower Women Entrepreneurs

3 Min Read

In a significant move to boost female entrepreneurship in Egypt, Nahdet El Mahrousa has announced the local launch of HerVenture, a mobile learning application specifically designed for women starting or scaling businesses. The initiative is the result of a strategic partnership between Nahdet El Mahrousa, Garage El Mahrousa, the SANAD Fund for MSME, and the European Union, bringing a globally recognized tool to the Egyptian market.

Accessible Entrepreneurship Training For The Digital Age

Originally developed by the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, HerVenture addresses the unique challenges faced by female founders by providing practical, bite-sized lessons that fit into their daily lives. The app serves as a digital mentor, offering guidance on essential business topics ranging from financial management and market research to product innovation and digital marketing.

The introduction of the app in Egypt aims to bridge the gap in access to formal business education. By offering a mobile-first approach, the platform allows women across various governorates to build their entrepreneurial skills at their own pace, regardless of their proximity to traditional business hubs or physical incubators.

A Multilateral Effort To Strengthen Egypt’s Startup Ecosystem

The launch is supported by a robust consortium of regional and international partners. The SANAD Fund for MSME and the European Union have provided the necessary backing to localize the content, ensuring the curriculum remains relevant to the specific economic landscape and regulatory environment in Egypt.

Nahdet El Mahrousa, acting as the local implementing partner, will integrate the app into its wider support ecosystem. This includes Garage El Mahrousa, their downtown Cairo coworking hub, which will provide a physical community space for users of the app to network and collaborate. This “phygital” approach combines the flexibility of mobile learning with the tangible benefits of a physical startup community.
