The Syrian Computer Society (SCS) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Syriatel Mobile Telecom to drive technological innovation and digital literacy across the country. Signed during the Syria Hi-Tech 2026 exhibition by Dr. Sinan Hattahat, Chairman of the SCS, and Mr. Yasser Al-Qaht, CEO of Syriatel, the agreement establishes a framework for cooperation aimed at bridging the gap between public and private sector digital capabilities.

Strategic Pillars Of The Collaboration

The partnership focuses on several key areas designed to modernize Syria’s tech infrastructure. Central to the agreement is the development of digital platforms that facilitate communication between the public and private sectors. Furthermore, the two entities will collaborate on specialized training and qualification programs in information and communications technology (ICT). These technical courses are designed to enhance the readiness of human capital, ensuring that the local workforce is equipped with the skills necessary for a modern digital economy.

Fostering Innovation And AI Education

A significant portion of the MoU is dedicated to social empowerment and the promotion of digital culture. The SCS and Syriatel plan to launch joint scientific events, including exhibitions, seminars, and workshops. A notable highlight of the agreement is the commitment to support and sponsor the Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, reflecting a shared vision to cultivate next-generation talent in emerging technologies. By integrating the knowledge-base of the SCS with the operational reach of Syriatel, the initiative seeks to accelerate the adoption of AI and other advanced tools within the community.

Driving The Digital Transformation Agenda

This collaboration underscores the importance of integrated roles between national knowledge hubs and telecommunications leaders. As the country seeks to expand its digital footprint, the synergy between the SCS, acting as a digital knowledge incubator, and Syriatel, as a national mobile operator, provides a foundation for practical projects that support technical evolution. The partnership is expected to streamline digital transformation efforts, creating a more cohesive environment for tech startups and established enterprises alike.
