Capital University recently hosted the regional finals for the Egypt Entrepreneurship Rally, reinforcing the growing role of academic institutions in building the country’s startup ecosystem. The event, organized in collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, brought together students, faculty, and industry experts to support emerging ventures and strengthen Egypt’s knowledge-based economy.

Under the leadership of Dr. Elsayed Kandil, President of Capital University, the event aimed to provide a direct channel for students and young entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into viable projects. The competition saw participation from 30 faculty members acting as judges, mentors, and speakers, highlighting a collective effort among Cairo’s universities to create a supportive environment for local startups.

Held at the university’s Arts and Culture Complex, the event was more than just a competition. It functioned as a dynamic platform for showcasing innovative ideas, facilitating knowledge exchange between teams, and promoting sustainable business models.
Alongside the startup pitches, the agenda included specialized guidance sessions led by the Biocluster incubator, which operates under the national “Intilak” technology incubator program. Industry experts and tech leaders also led discussions on the future of technology, industrial transformation, and sustainability, equipping young founders with insights to navigate future challenges.
