AI-Powered Efficiency at the Border

At the heart of the deployment is a new smart mobile device designed to simplify immigration procedures. The AI-enabled hardware automatically verifies travel documents and visas while capturing biometric data, passport details, and facial images. The entire process is completed in less than 40 seconds per pilgrim, significantly reducing wait times.

This technology is specifically intended to improve the experience for elderly pilgrims and people with disabilities, increasing the accessibility and efficiency of Hajj operations.

A Core Pillar of Vision 2030

The rollout reflects the Kingdom’s substantial investment in intelligent government services and digital infrastructure. By enabling pilgrims to complete key travel procedures before arriving in Saudi Arabia, the program helps manage congestion and speed up entry processes at a massive scale.

This initiative directly aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda, which emphasizes AI adoption and smart governance to upgrade public services across critical sectors like tourism, transportation, and public administration.
