During the 1447 AH Hajj season, technology streamlined critical processes at border points. The AI-powered RASID system cut verification times for controlled medications carried by pilgrims by 98%. The sector also received global validation when King Faisal Specialist Hospital was awarded Diamond status by the World Stroke Organization.
Aviation Goals Take Flight
The aviation sector hit notable operational and strategic targets. Saudia Airlines was ranked first globally for on-time performance in May 2026, reporting a 92.3% departure punctuality rate across more than 13,600 flights.
Meanwhile, new national carrier Riyadh Air marked a major step in its launch strategy, receiving its first three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The airline has initiated its first international routes, including to London Heathrow, as part of a long-term plan that includes a total of 72 aircraft.
