Egyptian digital investment platform Thndr has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Cloud to accelerate the use of cloud computing and artificial intelligence in the country’s financial services sector. Scaling with Localised Cloud Infrastructure
A key part of the collaboration hinges on leveraging Huawei Cloud’s public cloud region, which launched in Egypt in 2024. This facility allows Thndr to meet local data sovereignty rules, ensuring sensitive financial records are stored and processed within the country.
The cloud environment is compliant with the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority’s (FRA) requirements for data localisation. By using Huawei’s integrated infrastructure, which combines computing, storage, and networking, Thndr can support its growth with a secure and scalable foundation.
