UAE-based data and AI company CNTXT AI has closed a $60 million Series A round to accelerate its mission of deploying secure, sovereign AI infrastructure for enterprise and government clients worldwide. The funding was co-led by Abu Dhabi’s applied AI company AI71 and global asset manager BlueFive Capital.
Quick Facts
- Funding: $60 million Series A round.
- Investors: Co-led by AI71 and BlueFive Capital.
- Mission: Deploying sovereign AI infrastructure for global clients.
From Experimentation to Execution
The fresh capital marks a significant step for CNTXT AI as the global market shifts from AI pilots to full-scale implementation. The company plans to use the funds to advance product development, expand into new international markets, and scale the deployment of its infrastructure, which allows organizations to build and operate AI systems while retaining complete control over their data.
“The era of AI experimentation is over; the era of execution has begun,” said Mohammad Abu Sheikh, Founder and CEO of CNTXT AI. “This funding strengthens our ability to build the sovereign infrastructure and talent needed to deploy AI at scale. Our focus has always been on making AI work in the real world, under the most demanding conditions.”
Hazem Ben-Gacem, Founder and CEO of BlueFive Capital, added, “We backed CNTXT AI because they are building exactly the kind of technology-driven platform the region needs, one that turns raw data into real AI outcomes. This is the type of globally competitive business we want to build alongside.”
Building a Sovereign AI Powerhouse
Founded in 2023 by serial entrepreneur Mohammad Abu Sheikh, CNTXT AI addresses growing enterprise and government concerns around data privacy and digital sovereignty. Its platform is designed for organizations seeking alternatives to AI models that require sensitive data to leave national or institutional boundaries.
Abu Sheikh’s previous venture, LocAI, was acquired by AI71, which has now returned as a co-lead investor, signaling strong confidence in his vision. He is also the founder of SMPL AI, a $25 million fund backing early-stage AI startups.
“CNTXT AI capabilities and speed of execution stand out in this fast-moving AI world,” commented Reda Nidhakou, member of AI71 board of Directors and CEO of VentureOne. “An impressive venture born in the UAE but addressing global AI deployment needs. This investment strengthens our ability to build the environment needed to deploy AI at scale and to address our clients’ data sovereignty requirements.”
Strategic Moves and Product Focus
To bolster its technical capabilities, CNTXT AI recently acquired Actualize, an enterprise AI startup specializing in dialect-aware Arabic voice agents. The move enhances its proprietary product, Munsit, which is described as the most accurate Arabic voice AI available. Munsit has already processed over one million minutes of speech for more than 250 enterprises and 150,000 users.
The company collaborates with global tech leaders including Oracle, NVIDIA, and AWS, and has supported major AI developers with large language model initiatives across multiple markets.
