The National Bank of Egypt, in partnership with Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports and under the sponsorship of the Central Bank of Egypt, has announced the winning projects from its “Shabab Shamel” initiative in Cairo.
The program aims to improve financial awareness among young people, build entrepreneurship skills and introduce banking products and services designed to meet their needs. Its activities included a six-day pavilion hosted at several Cairo clubs in April, with financial education sessions, practical workshops on starting and managing businesses, and talks on innovation and entrepreneurship.
The initiative also highlighted the bank’s financing and non-financing support for small businesses, including the Rowad El Nile initiative.
More than 50 projects and ideas were submitted. Following an evaluation process, 12 projects were shortlisted, with the top three receiving financial support to help implement their ideas. The first-place winner received EGP 250,000, while the second- and third-place winners received EGP 150,000 and EGP 50,000, respectively.
According to the announcement, the initiative reflects cooperation between Egypt’s banking sector and public institutions to support youth skills development, financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.
