Tunisian climate-tech startup ProVerdy has been named “Startup of the Year” at the Tunisia Investment Forum 2026, two years after its launch.
Co-founded by Souha Bejaoui, Rahma Obeida and Hamza Jaoui, ProVerdy helps companies measure their carbon footprint and prepare sustainability reports through an AI-powered digital platform.
Bejaoui, the company’s co-founder and CEO, said her previous experience in the financial sector showed her how difficult it was for companies to turn large volumes of data into useful business insights. She also identified a growing need in Tunisia for expertise in measuring and reporting carbon emissions.
In 2025, ProVerdy joined the UNDP’s Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator, receiving five months of business acceleration, mentorship and investor access. The support helped the team move from developing its technology to defining its target customers, go-to-market strategy and sales approach.
The startup’s team has grown from six to eight people and now works with institutions across Tunisia’s banking, insurance and industrial sectors, including Banque de Tunisie, BH Bank, Star Assurance and Novo Nordisk.
According to the announcement, ProVerdy has secured $90K in investments and grants since joining the programme. It is also exploring opportunities in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, France and Senegal, following participation in Mobile World Congress in Doha.
