WE Applied Technology Schools have won first place in Egypt’s national Startup Teen competition for entrepreneurship and tech innovation for the second consecutive year, according to the announcement.
Organized by iSchool, the competition brought together students from WE schools across eight Egyptian governorates. A total of 79 students presented 19 projects, while nine teams reached the semifinals from 102 teams nationwide. Two WE teams advanced to the final, representing one-third of the teams competing for the title.
The Alexandria-based team took the top spot with “Basyta,” an application designed to connect customers directly with technicians and suppliers for home maintenance and finishing services. The project aims to improve price transparency and make service delivery more reliable.
Tamer El Mahdy, managing director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, said the result reflects the company’s focus on developing young people’s technical, innovation and entrepreneurial skills. He added that the goal is to help students turn ideas into practical solutions and promising projects that support Egypt’s digital economy.
