Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has opened the 41st round of its Information Technology Academia Collaboration (ITAC) Collaborative Funded Projects, offering Egyptian companies up to $98K (EGP 5M) to develop research-based ICT products.
The active round supports Product Development Projects (PDPs), which are designed for technologies that already have a proof of concept or prototype and need further development before reaching the market. Projects can run for up to 18 months, with applications open until October 29, 2026.
Eligible proposals must address ITAC technology or strategic areas, including artificial intelligence, big data, extended reality, cloud and quantum computing, blockchain, cybersecurity, robotics, IoT, electronics and embedded systems. Strategic applications include healthcare, agriculture, education, energy, transportation, disability services and digital transformation.
Applicant companies must be registered in ITIDA’s Companies Database. Each proposal must also be led by a principal investigator with a strong research background who can execute the proposed research plan.
ITAC also offers Preliminary Research Projects, but applications for that track are currently unavailable. According to the announcement, the program aims to connect Egyptian companies with universities and research institutions, helping move locally developed technologies from research and prototypes toward commercial products.
