Banque Centrale Populaire Group has received the award for Best Bank for Entrepreneurship and Microenterprise Development in Morocco for 2026 from the International Union of Arab Bankers.

The award was presented during the 2026 Arab Banking Excellence and Achievement Awards ceremony, held on September 11 in Istanbul, according to the announcement.

The recognition comes as the group expands its support for microenterprises. Loan production for this segment rose 33% through the end of July 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

During 2026, the group strengthened its “Al Moukawil Chaabi” entrepreneur centers, developed its financing process, digitized services, adjusted its risk assessment tools and expanded non-financial support for business owners. The centers combine financing, advisory support and day-to-day banking services.

Through its enterprise creation foundation, the group supported around 21,000 people during the first seven months of 2026, helping them launch projects, develop existing businesses and improve performance. The support also covered projects led by Moroccans living abroad and included business plan development.

The group also held the third edition of its “Investment Regions” initiative across eight stops in Morocco to engage directly with entrepreneurs and identify their needs.
